Marine Engines - Repair & Reconditioning
 

We have established an excellent reputation in the Shipping Industry for cast iron welding repairs and reconditioning of diesel marine engines. We have our own well equipped workshop facilities and skilled technical team. This enables us to provide quality repairs at a competitive price.

Our specifically developed welding techniques is proven to breathe new life into cylinder heads, turbo charger casings, water pumps, pistons and liners etc. which would otherwise be scrap items. Our fusion welding technique is approved by Lloyds Register EMEA and we are proud to offer classification certificates from all major Classification Societies, including Lloyds Register EMEA, Bureau Veritas, Det Norske Veritas, Germanisher Lloyd and American Bureau of Shipping, covering metallurgical analysis and pressure tests as and when required.

Free UK collection
We undertake to provide free UK collection of your components. We can arrange worldwide collection for clients but in most cases it is more convenient and cost effective to bring large components to a UK port by ship where we can then provide free UK collection from the port.

Emergency call out
Because we understand the importance of keeping your vessel in service, in an emergency we provide a 24 hour call out service.

Free Survey and Quotation
We undertake to provide free survey and quotation. When we have your agreement we will proceed with the work. Ask for a survey quotation online.

Unique defects sheet & photos
Every job is issued with unique defect sheet. Here we record the defects and include digital photographs of the work in progress.

Welding procedure
The components progress through our gas fusion welding process, beginning with detailed preparation of the defect(s), before the casting is preheated prior to the welding process, in its own preheat oven where precise temperatures are set to ensure the correct fusion of material and proper stress relief.

Final testing: A full test procedure is carried out to establish a 100% repair. This is then followed by full machining, complying with the manufacturers tolerances. Spare parts can then be fitted at this stage (valve guides, seats etc.) which can be supplied by ourselves at cost or by our client.

As standard practice all jobs repaired at our works undergo shotblasting, pressure testing, cleaning, painting and a final inspection. read more...
